Ok, here we are. A little dark
perhaps, but I remember
lighter times--I think. So:
remind me, how the Earth glowed
in an auburn sunlight, or
the freshness of the air,
crisp, clean, and cool, like
a pleasant Tuesday in the office.
Perhaps I've forgotten
humans, but not that they were--
well, they once were.
Anyway. Faint though it is,
conjure those things to me
the friendly ghosts of them
to haunt the dark with light
cast from an earlier sun.
